Special Equestria Girls: Movie Magic Aired:
July 1 2017
We find a dark scene unfolding as a villain holds an ancient relic with laughter before Rainbow Dash cuts off the apparent Daring Do movie scene to point out a mistake. Regardless of how dumb the correction is, the director goes with it and refilms the scene. Later, they find themselves surrounded by equipment as the director was only too happy to let them in after they saved Camp Everfree.  However, much like the movie scene, the conversation is cut short as a girl comes in to report a missing Daring Do costume, leaving the director to leave.
With the next scene a while off from being filmed, the group discuss what to look at in the mean time and each of them has their own ideas, unwilling to really listen to Science Twilight's suggestion. With that, the group split but luckily Science Twilight gets Rainbow Dash to come with her to her intended idea. Elsewhere, Rarity and Fluttershy meet outside Ms. Magnifico's trailer, hoping for some kind of interaction but Rarity gets the door slammed in her face before the duo get a bad feeling once Ms. Magnifico yells at someone via cellphone.
Meanwhile, Sunset Shimmer and Applejack have found the set as well as a candy wrapper that they figure wouldn't want to be in the shot so Sunset Shimmer pockets it for later.  Their fun pales in comparison to Rainbow Dash and Science Twilight's as they see the relics for themselves and meet Juniper Montage, the director's niece, whom shares her experiences of being on set and a brief gaze at A.K. Yearling herself but is generally there to get things ready.
Juniper would've loved to play the part of Daring Do but got turned down and offers them a tour of Deceptive Cabrilaron's secret lair. With Pinkie Pie and Spike, they haven't found the cupcake fountain but did find more of the candy bars and eat until they're gone, leaving the director and Ms. Magnifico with an additional dilemma with they already have. Rainbow Dash and several others have returned to the next scene's filming and Rainbow Dash's excitement ruins the director's concentration so she heads back to see the relics again.
The scene goes wrong as the volcano's structure gives way. Worse still, Rainbow Dash comes back to report that the relics are gone. It's enough to have the director considering the cancellation of the movie but that's not news Rainbow Dash or the other fans want to hear. Another crash draws the director and Juniper away, leaving the group to try and sort out what's been going on. It's clear someone doesn't want the movie to take place, leaving Rarity and Fluttershy to consider that Ms. Magnifico may be to blame.
Science Twilight puts the relics as priority number 1 so the group agree to look for them. However, they don't know where to start until a cloaked figure appears from out of the dark alley. With that, the chase is on but the cloaked figure manages to lose them and the only consolation being Sunset Shimmer and Pinkie Pie did find the cupcake fountain. Before they can continue, they're mistaken for the actual actors and wisked away to get into costumes for the next scene. Luckily, a director realizes the mistake and questions who they are, with full intent on firing the person responsible for the mixup.
Regardless, the group finds the cloaked figure and resumes the hunt, chasing the figure all over the place before becoming worn out, ending up in the setting for Pinkie Pie's favorite movie, complete with actual chocolate pudding. They're running out of time and while they contemplate what to do next, the cloaked figure traps all but Rainbow Dash in a net. Rainbow Dash gives chase, knocking over the bucket of chocolate pudding in the process and leaving a trail behind her. The figure leads her into a room that yields the missing Daring Do costume but shuts the door, leaving her trapped inside.
Meanwhile, the others get out of the net and need to find Rainbow Dash but with Rainbow Dash's high speed, she could be anywhere. However, Pinkie Pie and Spike find the trail of pudding footprints and follow them almost to Rainbow Dash's location. It's not untl Fluttershy overhears Rainbow Dash's cries for help that she is found. Unfortunately the doors are locked so Science Twilight uses her magic to unlock the door, getting a sudden Rainbow Dash hug of thanks in return. It's all thanks to the pudding trail left behind.
While they've found the costume, they don't know who locked Rainbow Dash in, or where the missing relics are. Science Twilight has a hunch who the culprit is and the group consult with the director and get approval to search for the relics, leaving Juniper to make a smoothie run. Sure enough, the culprit returns to the relics, revealing to be Juniper from before. The director doesn't quite believe it until after the pieces are placed together.  Juniper was out to sabotage the movie due to the candy bars she craved being eaten and not being allowed to play Daring Do, a part she'd always wanted to play.
The director forgives her but prevents her from returning on set for a very long time and she is escorted away. Better news comes in from Ms. Magnifico when she receives word about her removal of being part of the documentary on nests, allowing her to be a part of the movie full-time. As a reward for their good deed, the director lets them play parts in the movie as Daring Do battles Deceptive Cabrilaron only to have Rainbow Dash interrupt the scene once more to the disapproval of others.
