My Little Pony A Very Pony Place Part 1 Summary

In Unicornia, Lily Lightly announces that tonight is their Rainbow Lights party and what's a Rainbow Party without lights as she opens up a large present containing a large pile of lights that she instructs Cheerilee and Brights Brightly to hang around the complete area. Later that night, they discover Rarity is missing but they find her covered in lights as she is told that the lights go around bushes and lampposts. Cheerilee makes Lily Lightly princess of twinkles and glows and Lily is surprised and slowly begins backing away with a spotlight literally on her and her horn begins to glow. She darts off telling others to shine on. Cheerilee and Brights Brightly free Rarity from her strand of lights and Rarity spins for a few seconds after the lights are put on the light post. Meanwhile, somehow up in a balloon, Minty and Pinkie Pie are heading to Unicornia but Pinkie Pie learns that Minty left the map to Unicornia in her sock, which is in her sock drawer back in Ponyville but Minty says they won't need it. Back on the ground, another strand of lights is put up while another is played with as a jump rope by Rarity and Lily Lightly, whom again runs away when her horn begins glowing, causing the others to pile-up in a tangle of lights. (How do they not notice Lily's horn glowing?) Rarity begins giggling and explains why in song with others joining in as the song progresses. The song ends but this time they notice Lily's horn glowing and Lily dashes off again. Brights Brightly and Rarity look for her but get lost themselves. Back in the balloon, Pinkie Pie points out that they've past the same cloud several times but Minty assures her that she knows the way and Pinkie Pie hopes so. On the ground again, the other unicorns try to figure out why Lily ran away and figure she must've been embarrassed. Elsewhere, Lily meets a firefly (whom I'm going to call Firefly since he/she wasn't named) that tries to get Lily to see that it's fun to light up but Lily fears that they might laugh at her if they see the way she shines. As she starts a song, Firefly tries to again convince her that it's alright to shine. After being fully convinced, the song ends and we're back to Minty and Pinkie Pie, who land where Minty thinks is Unicornia but it looks nothing like it to Pinkie Pie. It's getting dark and while Minty says she can see the way, Pinkie Pie can't even see Minty. They run into Rarity and Brights Brightly, whom explain that they don't know where they are and about Lily, whom they find behind a rock and convince her to come out. Firefly tries to tell them that it's her light but when that doesn't work, she says it's one of her friends. Lily overhears what the others say and comes out as the others mention why they're all special too in song. Lily feels much better after the song and is convinced to come back home, which lights up, literally leading the way home. When they arrive, no one answers so they enter the dark castle to find that her friends have lights on their horns to make up for embarrassing Lily. She truly is the princess of twinkles and glows as a long dress appears upon her. Firefly tells Lily to keep shining on as she leaves with the Rainbow Lights party underway.
