My Little Pony A Very Minty Christmas Summary

The movie opens with the catchy "That's What I Love About Christmas" theme as a the ponies are busy having fun in the snow or getting decorations up. With the tree finally in place, Sweetberry and Triple Treat struggle to decide on designs for the Here Comes Christmas candy cane, then they ask for Cotton Candy's input but she complains about the idea of putting up decorations every year, saying it isn't very fun, which TT and Sweetberry are shocked to hear as it's a Ponyville tradition. Almost as if the lights heard the conversation, Cotton Candy becomes tangled in the lights so Sweetberry and Triple Treat free her, sending her spinning all around the room and eventually coming to a stop. She didn't know Triple Treat and Sweetberry were coming up with the designs. After Sweetberry and Triple Treat give their flavor ideas, Cotton Candy decides on a Pinkie Mint flavor with Pinkie being this year's Christmas host and the mint for additional flavor with agreement from TT and Sweetberry. Outside, Sparkleworks, Skywishes and Sunny Daze make a snowman, then race off to hear Pinkie Pie's speech. Minty says for them to wait up but then sees the snowman with its nose before the nose falls off and she fixes it, then decides to mess with the rest of the head as she wants it straight but the head falls off and splats on the ground so she remakes it, though it's not as large as it was before. She decides to add one of her sock boots around the neck of the snowman and heads out. Uh-oh! At 7:31 into the movie, how can Minty's sock be that short on her leg but go entirely around the neck of the snowman as shown at 5:14 into the movie? In any case, at the speech, Pinkie Pie starts by thanking Rainbow Dash, last year's Christmas host and gives her a medal. Then Pinkie Pie begins reading the speech (though wouldn't it be better if she was facing her audience while she reads it? During the speech, Thistle Whistle questions why it has to be clouds but Cloud Climber reminds her that Santa is the one flying. At last the Here Comes Christmas candy cane arrives. Minty slowly finds her way through the crowd (though she could've just stood on the ends to avoid all that) and gets a compliment on her sock from Sunny Daze, then goes through the socks she loves (which happens to be all of them). To make it extra special, Pinkie Pie has invited their new friends to put the HCC candy cane on top of the tree and she does. The ponies get busy as Minty eyes the HCC candy cane. She decides that the candy cane's position is off but with no one around to help her, she takes it upon herself by taking off in a balloon. She gets a little close and ends up flying further as the HCC tilts forward. Now it's HCC vs Minty as once again Minty straightens the HCC, incidentally getting the smell of the candy cane, figuring Santa will want to eat every bite (so is it edible or does Minty think it's edible?). Back at the castle, the Christmas lights are turned on to everyone's delight. At last, Minty feels the HCC is perfect, at least for a second or two, then decides to give it one final tap but this is enough to have the candy cane fall off the top of the tree and shatter on the ground in many tiny pieces. Minty hopes it was just a dream and didn't really happen so she decides to see for herself. Unfortunately, it did just happen and she's ruined Christmas for everyone. She heads back into the main part of Ponyville as Sunny Daze and Sparkleworks are working on the lampposts and are too busy to hear what Minty has to say so they suggest to talk to Pinkie Pie. She enters as PP and Rainbow Dash are having a brief conversation about whether the banner is too pink, then RD says she has rainbows to hang and heads off. Minty finally enters but ends up sliding across the floor and into the banner, sending it and those holding it up tumbling to the ground. She helps hang the banner back up, but not before having it tumble back to the ground as she struggles telling her incident with the HCC, much to the disapproval of Cloud Climber and Thistle Whistle. PP tells Minty that it's probably fine, regardless of what she did. After all, you can't stop Christmas from coming........unless you're Minty, whom heads home, pondering why she even touched the HCC in the first place, briefly sobbing about how she ruined everything and how to fix it. She gets the idea to become Santa and give everyone socks. She expresses her love of socks in song. Afterwards, she follows up on her idea to deliver socks to her friends but at Rainbow Dash's house (the 1st house she visits) she can't seem to decide where to put the sock right away, then decides to put it where the brush hangs. She makes it through RD's, another unnamed house, nearly is caught by Sunny Daze but manages to get her back to sleep.
