Movie A Very Minty Christmas (Part 2) Released:
October 25, 2005
It's not until Pinkie Pie's house does she run into trouble as her Santa ploy doesn't work and Pinkie Pie catches her, asking what she's doing there with one of her socks on her head. Minty explains she was trying to be Santa because she broke the Here Come Christmas candy cane accidentally. Pinkie Pie is mad, then upset about this. They can't glue it back together because it's in way too many pieces.
Minty tells PP that she's REALLY sorry as PP asks what her sock is doing on her own mantle. Minty says they're just dumb old socks and she can't be Santa, briefly crying as PP assures they'll think of something. She finally gets an idea to have Minty visit the North Pole and Minty happily races off but is caught by Thistle Whistle, who sees right through Minty's fib so Minty explains her story, leaving TW confused about which "adventure" and "with you" Minty meant along the way. It's something Minty has to do so she heads off alone, which isn't what Pinkie Pie meant as she herself rushes into another balloon to go get Minty but Thistle Whistle says it'd be faster if she went but she is warned about the clouds in the sky (which appear to be brewing a storm as you can hear the howling winds so there might be a reason to be afraid of clouds here). Up in the sky, Minty's poor steering and the wind are making her trip very bumpy as he whacks one of the trees on the house and knocks the giant Christmas tree down to the ground and is lifted back into the sky.
Down below, the ponies scope out the situation before Pinkie Pie explains the whole thing and says the first thing they must do is rescue Minty. Back in the clouds, Minty sees the North Pole but the wind takes her too far and she ends up sliding past it as Thistle Whistle chases after her. The two of them finally meet in a near-kiss and end up scaring each other before TW attempts to help Minty but the wind is too strong and caries both of them. TW suggests maybe forgetting the north pole and returning home but Minty has to tell Santa what she did so her friends get Christmas. Meanwhile, everyone else is in their own balloons with Star Catcher and Cloud Climber (not in balloons) leading the way. Once again with Minty and TW, the wind is carrying them all over the place until they get caught on a tree branch that pops their balloon as TW asks why the candy cane was so important. It's not looking good for them as the balloon begins to tear, then the branch starts breaking but the two ponies are saved just in the nick of time.

Star Catcher says they'll need a place to land until the weather clears up and they choose the North Pole, discovering where all the areas would be, then finding a note from Santa on his door. She apologizes but Sweetberry says she and TW are save, which is all that matters. They've brought everyone to the most magical place of all inside Minty's heart and everyone hugs, setting off a magical glow that appears throughout Ponyville. When it ends, Thistle Whistle announces that the clouds are clearing up and Minty asks if Star Catcher can lead they way back home. Uh-oh! Looks like the animators missed a frame on Minty's mouth at around 34:06 into the movie because it becomes pushed back for a second on the right image (it's hard to see but it's that extra line above Minty's actual mouth).
Star Catcher agrees to lead the way and when they finally make it back home, they discover the tree is back up along with the HCC candy cane. Sweetberry notices Minty's socks and Minty explains whom each of them is for, and that it was a silly idea. Rainbow Dash says it was darling to give the socks but Minty hung them inside. Uh-oh! At 36:43 into the movie, it's only a slight goof but after Rainbow dash says "darling" her mouth doesn't just close, it opens as if to say something else, then closes as shown in the right image!
Minty becomes confused again because they were just empty socks and she was at the North Pole, which brings up the inevitable question asked by Cloud Climber: Who did it? Santa of course but how did he find them without the candy cane's glow? Star Catcher suggests it was the glow of everyone's love and care for each other, which is the true meaning of Christmas. Minty finds another note from Santa and (unlike the last one) reads it. The letter asks if Santa can use Minty's sock idea since it was a good idea. Everyone says Merry Christmas and Minty sings her own version of "That's What I Love About Christmas" with new and old scenes accompanying it. When it ends, Minty has another "must be perfect" moment but is caught by her friends.
