Episode 17	Up, Up and Away	Aired: October 23, 1992
At the ICS, the gang discuss UFOs, flying saucers and the like. Patch decides they should go check out the supposed "UFO" spotted at Pony Point that night and they do but are denied access by police. Patch wants to be like the heroes in books. Back in school the next day, Ms Hackney teaches about the mechanics of flying and Patch daydreams of being in an airplane and sings about wanting more adventure in her life. When she returns to reality, Ms Hackney announces that she has a surprise for the class and invites them outside where she introduces the class to Mr Kidoo, who also knows about the mechanics of flying (and seems to have taken a liking to Ms Hackney and vice versa) and requests a cup of tea, which he must do before ballooning.  As the others follow Ms Hackney, Bon Bon sees Patch get inside the balloon.  Patch follows instructions (balloon-wise) and gets the balloon hoisted into the air with Bon Bon dragging behind. The class see the balloon and Patch assures them she and Bon Bon are okay but Bon Bon isn't so sure. Meanwhile, Ms Hackney and Mr Kidoo are enjoying tea and Hackney asks Kidoo if he's sure it's okay the balloon be in the school yard. He's sure until the balloon flies directly overhead. Patch is having a blast but Bon Bon's feeling sick and wants to know when they land. A bird comes in and grabs one of the balloon's strings and Bon Bon uses the instruction manual to scare the bird away but the bird manages to pull one of the strings and the balloon starts falling. The flame of the balloon also goes out and worse yet, there are sharks below! The "UFO" appears and reveals itself to be a group of unicorns and pegasai that re-light the balloon and mend its hole., allowing the balloon to fly normally. Patch decides it's time to go home and they land safely back on the ground. Ms Hackney isn't happy about Patch's irresponsible behavior but is glad they are back safely. Once again the "UFO" appears and heads over to Pony Point. Patch sneaks past the barriers to talk and vows to find them one day.
