Episode 57 | The Golden Horseshoes (Part 2) | Aired: September 15, 1987 |
Megan and the ponies don't want to be captured so
they bolt and the goblins have trouble keeping up, not to mention
working together. Megan's group splits up to hide but since Paradise has
the glowing horseshoe, Wind Whistler gets Paradise to stop the glow in
time as the goblins begin their search. However, it isn't long before
they snatch North Star and Spike, leaving Wind Whistler to realize the
goblins know where they're hiding. Another goblin grabs Lofty and Megan
but since they don't sense anymore minds to read, they head off. Paradise and Lofty aren't grabbed and Wind Whistler figures that their horseshoes cancel out the goblins' horseshoe, meaning they can secretly follow. At the goblins' house, their Ma and Pa are arm wrestling and Ma takes home her 306th victory of the day just as the three goblins arrive with their haul. Those captured are thrown in a large cage attached to the ceiling. While their haul is nice, Ma wants them to get along and has to stop a feud from breaking out before she breaks into tears and then a song. Not even the song keeps the trio from arguing so it's cut short and Ma resumes crying while the goblins make up with each other. Megan realizes the fighting is caused by the horseshoe allowing them to read minds but Ma refuses to listen and heads with Pa to count their treasures. The group realize they can't do much for Mimic regardless of her current status. Worse still, Mr. Moochick has done what little he can but they need the golden horseshoes to make her illness disappear. However, Cupcake suggests making the horseshoes himself and Mr. Moochick just might be able to if he can get home to do it. Whizzer is the fastest flyer and agrees to take him so off they go. Meanwhile, Wind Whistler and Paradise awaken the sleeping goblins and get them to fight as a distraction while they themselves rescue the others. Ma and Pa return in time to notice the lack of prisoners but it's too late as North Star takes the golden horseshoe away, leaving the goblins with something even better, the return of their family spirit. At his house, Mr. Moochick is busy making the horseshoes but the magic proves too strong to be controlled. Elsewhere, Megan and the others use Paradise's horseshoe to find the home of the Green Mountain Elves, which is also where the last horseshoe is. They take flight but Paradise finds the air too thin for her to make it so Wind Whistler and North Star get her up as a team. They reach the top and find a door but the area was built to be decieving. The doors open and a girl named Kara greets them and explains that her daugher Mayve has it and due to Elven Law, Mayve must give it up herself or they cannot take it. Kara agrees to take them to Mayve but Mave refuses to give up the horseshoe and takes them on a ride using it. Now that they've seen why Mayve wants it, Megan gets Mayve to take them to Dream Valley so she can see why it's needed more. When they arrive and see Mimic's condition, it's enough for Mayve to give up the horseshoe and they head inside at once to give Mr. Moochick the horseshoes. The group watches in awe as the four horseshoes glow brighter than ever before and restore Mimic's health to normal before they all hug in celebration. |
