Episode 159 Campfire Tales Aired:
August 26 2017
We find Applejack hard at work to set up the tents for their apparent camping trip but Applejack finds she needs a little more help and gets it Apple Bloom. Their progress has allowed them to get ready earlier than they anticipated but while Apple Bloom suggests the event should be done every weekend, Applejack notes it wouldn't be as special. They've really improved on their camping skills and Apple Bloom has to remind Applejack of Rarity's giant tent.
The comment is picked up by Rarity, whom has Sweetie Belle carrying only 3 suit cases worth this time.  Meanwhile, Rainbow Dash is searching for food and manages to find what she feels is a good haul. Unfortunately, Scootaloo has checked her book to find those same berries to be very poisonous for eating. Making matters worse, Scootaloo's nerves are rattled with her unwittingly bringing herself to spooky sounds and sights.
Rainbow Dash assures things will be fine this time around and they head to the spot where their picnic is ready to go. Just when they get to digging into the food, a fly-spider hybrid joins the frey and gives Sweetie Belle an eyeful of spiderweb. Worse still, a swarm of them appears and leaves them to try and fend them off while taking bites.  Applejack recognizes them as Flyders (or Fliders I suppose) and orders everyone to head for cover. Unfortunately, Applejack's escape is thwarted by a Flyder and she's forced to hop into the nearby cave with the others, much to Scootaloo's dismay.
Applejack figures the bugs were attracted to the food but can't understand why they're so far north. All they can do is wait for them to leave and that leaves Apple Bloom upset. They do have each other and Applejack suggests they tell stories to pass the time, specifically campfire stories. Since they don't have a campfire, Rainbow Dash braves the bug swarm to get them one and comes back with enough bites to lave her face looking rather disfigured. With that, Applejack starts telling the legend she and Apple Bloom enjoy (and Apple Bloom risks spoiling it) about Rockhoof and his path to greatness from a volcanic eruption.
When it's over, the story is met with much approval but Rarity figures maybe they can go back to camp. Unfortunately, the Flyders have coated their tents in spiderweb and remain over their picnic area so Rarity . Sweetie Belle is upset as there's seemingly nothing pretty about the cave but Rarity shows her otherwise, leading up to her favorite legend regarding a pony with a town whose beauty was taken away by a friend she thought she knew.
The story has Sweetie Belle convinced it's her favorite legend too. However, the Flyders are moving in and put out their campfire, leaving Rainbow Dash to block the entrance using rocks from the cave itself, much to the others' disapproval. Feeling trapped, Scootaloo takes it hardest by hyperventilating. Not even Applejack re-lighting the campfire calms Scootaloo's nerves. Rainbow Dash details her story and that only makes Scootaloo feel worse, even next to her idol. Finally, Rainbow Dash gets her story going about a male pony, his team, and two dragons but Scootaloo isn't convinced the ending is going to be good.
When the story ends, Scootaloo is happy again but no one is convinced that Rainbow Dash is as close to the legend's pony as she thinks. As a bit of extra luck, there's no noise coming from outside, leaving Applejack to believe the Flyders have disappeared. However, the blockcade Rainbow Dash made earlier proves to be too thick to punch through, leaving them to try their luck further inside the cave.  They hear water and find the source and realize it may lead to the way out. They ride it all the way out of the cave and through a waterall to find themselves where they intended to be when they first arrived at their campsite.
Following her legend, Rarity takes flowers from nearby trees and makes the same items to give to the Cutie Mark Crusaders. Despite the terror they went through, the CMCs had a great time and race off to set up their new shelter.
