Episode 150 Parental Glideance Aired:
May 20 2017
We find the Cutie Mark Crusaders setting up a slingshot but question Scootaloo's decision to follow through with it. Finally, they get the slingshot ready to go and we see that it's for a trip to Cloudsdale for Scootaloo's report but Apple Bloom doesn't feel the slingshot is the best way to get to Cloudsdale. Just when Scootaloo is having second thoughts given the other suggestions, the slingshot releases the pent-up energy, sending Scootaloo high into the air.
Luckily, it's enough energy to get Scootaloo safely to Cloudsdale where he ends up poking through a cloud being mowed. Her first encounter is from a pony he knows all-too-well, Rainbow Dash's dad and lets the pony know just how excited she is with a long scream and a hoofshake. Even when the father lets go, Scootaloo is still in the moment  for a bit longer. Unfortunately, getting his wife to come out only makes Scootaloo scream longer and louder.  Scootaloo lets up just long enough to apologize then resumes screaming while sliding around on her back. Worse still, the mom is unable to prevent damage to her special plates.
After explaining the reason she's here, she finds out the parents are already giving her compeititon for number 1 fan of Rainbow Dash (though I don't think parents count since they're supposed to love their son/daughter).  After the mom introduces herself (with a name similar to G1 Wind Whistler I might add), the parents agree to give Scootaloo the information on Rainbow Dash's pre-Ponyville days. Once inside, Scootaloo again can't contain her excitement, even adding part of the meal she ate to the scrapbook (and this is why I'm already annoyed with this episode but it gets worse).
Scootaloo is given a tour of the house and takes more photos along the way. Once they arrive at Rainbow Dash's room, Scootaloo screams again but it's mercifully shorter as Scootaloo takes in her idol's belongings. Furthermore, there's a hidden room (whose door has unnecessary sound effects included) and Scootaloo continues adding to her scrapbook. However, there's nothing from Rainbow Dash's time as a Wonderbolt as the parents weren't even aware this had happened. Scootaloo even captures their facial expressions before playing on the joke from earlier involving the door's SFX.
For the parents' efforts, Scootaloo agrees to share the Rainbow Dash she's come to know and we find the Wonderbolts soaring through the air with Rainbow Dash included. Unfortunately, there's vibrations in the air as Rainbow Dash's parents are with Scootaloo and making too much noise. The Wonderbolts land to investigate further but Rainbow Dash takes the blame and discusses the matter with her parents. The meeting doesn't go over well as Rainbow Dash finds herslef embarassed at her mom and dad's antics.
Not even her dad can keep it together knowing that his daughter is a Wonderbolt and has broken down to tears of joy. Out of respect for Rainbow Dash, the other Wonderbolts head back to the academy showers but not before one of them commends the father for her daughter's success. Rainbow Dash eventually breaks free from her dad's grip to discuss the matter with Scootaloo as she'd rather have been warned first. Scootaloo doesn't see the problem though, even after she learns why this is bad for Rainbow Dash.
The next day, The Wonderbolts are preparing for their next event and Scootaloo has brought Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom to meet Rainbow Dash's parents, whom are also among the gathering crowd. Furthermore, Scootaloo shares her knowledge of how Rainbow Dash became a Wonderbolt.  She finishes the story just before the Wonderbolts take to the skies, leaving Rainbow Dash's parents to resume their rowdy excitement.
The Wonderbolt from earlier is happy for Rainbow Dash until the fireworks from the rowdy parents are launched, leading to a different conclusion.  Worse still, every activity Rainbow Dash takes part in the parents are there with her, commending her every step of the way. Not even inside the Wonderbolts Academy locker room is Rainbow Dash safe from parental embarassment.  In fact, her parents push her to the breaking point and she lets them have an earful of frustration. It's too much for Scootaloo and Rainbow Dash's parents to take and they head off with a new outlook on their former hero.
Rainbow Dash has regrets (and I don't understand why as her anger was well justified) and returns to Scootaloo with an additional story regarding her past where she wasn't as good as her parents had made her out to be. It's the parents Scootaloo dreamed of having as she never had anyone tell her she'd get good at anything. It's enough for Rainbow Dash to realize she took her parents for granted and sets off to make things right. With Scootaloo's help, Rainbow Dash is able to confront her parents with an apology and a special treat.
When the show is over, her parents come over to thank and hug her but find the whole thing a bit embarassing. At school the next day, Scootaloo has given her report and it goes over well in spite of the odd inclusions in the scrapbook. As a bonus, Rainbow Dash and her parents are cheering Scootaloo this time and don't listen to Ms. Cheerilee's requests to quet down.
