Episode 139 P.P.O.V. (Pony Point of View) Aired:
October 1 2016
We find Twilight racing through Ponyville with Spike lagging behind as she's just too excited to find out how the trip went for Rarity, Applejack and Pinkie Pie. Twilight helps Spike on her back and arrives at the train station. However, with no train yet in sight, Twilight requests Spike to take notes in case the trio end up talking over one another in their excitement. The train arrives but there's no excitement to be had as Rarity, Pinkie Pie and Applejack are a mess and force their way out of the train to go different directions. Twilight isn't deterred and sets up the table for tea and discussion, convinced that it'll be enough to settle the feud.
A knock at the door has Twilight ready to answer but it's only the trio's three pets Opalescence, Gummy and Winona, each with a letter to Twilight stating why they're not coming. Needing answers, Twilight and Spike head off but not before Spike takes some of the food to go. They stop at Rarity's boutique just as Rarity get a crab out of her mane, requesting to find out what she knows regarding the incident. Rarity eventually gives details whereby she invited the other two to come on a cruise (which is hardly what one would call a sailboat), which is less than thrilling to Pinkie Pie and Applejack's pirate talk doesn't help things either.
Regardless, Rarity maintains happy and they climb aboard, only to find Applejack still not fully under control and the two of them watch as Applejack dumps their food into the ocean. However, Twilight and Spike aren't convinced they have the whole picture as Applejack isn't portrayed the way she normally behaves. Regardless, Rarity isn't finished with her recollection of the events and shares that Applejack steered their ship into a storm just as Pinkie Pie and Rarity were going to be having fun. Worse still, Applejack refuses to accept Rarity's request to calmer waters but when Pinkie Pie joins in, the feud begins.
Rarity's story ends with the demise of the ship but it's not clear how they got back to shore. Rarity is to emotionally drained to go further and suggests asking Pinkie Pie for confirmation. They visit Pinkie Pie at Sugar Cube Corner but find her story just as confusing, especially when Pinkie Pie blames Rarity for the sailboat's demise. Pinkie Pie's story brings Applejack more or less as she normally acts but Rarity is the one overdoing it with an army of sailor ponies. Worse still, when they present food, Rarity gives her food 10 seconds of praise before throwing them away, leaving Twilight to question the story's truth.
As Pinkie Pie's recollection continues, Rarity ends up being mean-spirited and ridiculing the game of pinata while Applejack has a go. Before Applejack can take a swing, the storm is upon them and it's up to them to steer away. However, none of them are in control as Rarity and Applejack are fighting over the map with Pinkie Pie joining in and allowing the winner to be captain. Rarity departs to take the wheel but isn't in control at all so Applejack fights to steer clear but it's too late and the ocean claims the ship. The story still doesn't answer how they got back but before Pinkie Pie can answer she races to attend to her burnt cupcakes.
The duo head off to see Applejack, whom also has a story to tell whereby Rarity and Pinkie Pie are the ones seemingly out of character. Furthermore, once they board, they're not interested in the adventure Applejack had planned for them (and it makes the most sence out of the three given that it's a sailbot with a map). This time, after the food is presented and Rarity shows no interest, Applejack trips over a volley ball on the Deck, sending the food into the ocean. Rarity still shows no interest in the pinata game so Pinkie Pie sneaks up on Applejack to make her take part instead, which again leaves no one at the helm. The usual fight over the map occurs, leaving the ship to turn towards a storm that take it down.
With the mystery no closer to being solved, Twilight and Spike head back to review Spike's notes. Spike doesn't see much of a connection until Twilight realizes the three components the stories also have in common and sets up a plan to reunite her friends. She manages to get the three of them together but they're no happier to see one another and insist there's no friendship emergency given they just need an apology from one another but none of them can agree on which of them needs the apology. Spike has had enough and interrupts to request they tell how they got back. It's not as far out as they made it out to be so it was easy for them to return. They admit that they embellished a bit but don't like being lied to and proceed to head off.

Twilight puts the rest of her plan into action and invites them on board to explain. The trio agrees to come aboard, eager to find out whether their accusations are justified. Once they set sail, Spike becomes worried that they haven't found what Twilight has been looking for but Twilight assures things are under control and explains her findings to the others, including to prove what happened when the cucumber sandwitch is dropped into the ocean. It's food for the Tri-Horned Bunnyan whose bubbles signal that it's coming to the surface (though we've never been told about this at all beforehand). The trio don't buy it until the animal rises up from below to apologize for capsizing the sailboat.
Furthermore, when the argument reignites, Twilight explains that they were all so focused on getting each other out of their normal routine that they failed to see that the other two were doing the exact same thing. Each pony confirms that's what happened and realizes that Twilight is right and they were wrong. Pinkie Pie, Applejack and Rarity agree that they've done a nice thing for each other and agree not to fight ever again. In fact, they bring in the Tri-Horned Bunnyan for a group hug before Pinkie Pie shows it the game of pinata while Rarity and Applejack marvel over the treasure they've found before the two of them and Spike embrace a sundae and a much better time at sea.
