Episode 137 | Viva Las Pegasus | Aired: September 17 2016 |
At Twilight's castle, Applejack is most surprised
that the map is requesting herself and Fluttershy to Las Pegasus, which
is more of a vacation than anything. Regardless of how the two of them
feel, Twilight has confidence that the map has chosen the right ponies.
Applejack and Fluttershy try to relax, hoping that their fears are not
justified. Unfortunately, they arrive to find both of their fears
realized. Once inside the lobby of one building, Fluttershy feels the
overwhelming sense of fun would be better suited for Pinkie Pie or
Rainbow Dash. Regardless, Applejack is willing to trust the map since
Twilight had faith in them.
The only thing they need to do now is find their friendship problem and solve it but in the sea of ponies and activity, it's not going to be easy. They find one pony advertising shows taking place, including to bring up the owner named Gladmane. Fluttershy is impressed but before Applejack can get another word out, Gladmane himself appears, having already known the two of them despite not meeting before. He's there to make friends and that's what helped make the place it is now and offers them a tour. The duo agree to take the tour even though they have not yet found their friendship problem. Their first stop checks up on an acrobat pony, whom is not only overly excited to see Gladmane but shows off her latest routine to the delight of the small audience. After having a brief chat with a bearded pony, Fluttershy finds something she enjoys, the pink prarie dogs in cages compliments of the Seigmund and Roy ponies. Applejack wants to continue and eventually gets Fluttershy to follow. Once back in the lobby, they wonder where their friendship problem could be when it doesn't seem to be there at all. However, two familiar voices try to get everyone's attention to their shows and the duo realize the voices are Flim and Flam, a reminder of the past. In a surprising twist, Flim and Flam begin arguing over their reasoning for selling the tickets and end up insulting each other to the point where Fluttershy suspects they've been brought to end the brothers' feud. Applejack refuses to accept that as a possibility and Gladmane tries to settle things to no avail. Gladmane returns to work, unsure of why Flim and Flam acting so out of place but while Fluttershy remains convinced Flim and Flam are the problem, Applejack wants to search the whole resort to find a better problem. Fluttershy tries to get Flim and Flam to settle their differences but only gets another earful of their arguing. Meanwhile, Applejack finds what she believes is the true friendship problem but it's one of several arguments to come as the Seigmund and Roy ponies are also arguing over which of their routines is better. When the duo decide to have lunch, Fluttershy and Applejack discuss what they've found and it leads them to believe that Gladmane may have something to do with the arguments that have been taking place. Later on, they discuss their additional findings but Fluttershy's talk with the animals indicates that Gladmane may be behind the events even though the ponies had given praise about him. It's proof for Applejack to realize Gladmane's friendships are an act and he's really trying to get everyone to fight each other on purpose. All they need is a way to trick Gladmane into revealing his true motive. The possible way to do that is right in front of them in the form of Flim and Flam. Applejack is willing to accept that maybe the ones she thought weren't part of it, may be part of it after all. They try talking to the brothers but they don't trust them until Applejack and Fluttershy get them to bring up what Gladmane had told each of them about the other. With that, Flim and Flam get a plan into action and get Gladmane to see it for himself. Gladmane introduces himself and learns just how secretive Impossibly Rich is but agrees to a tour in about an hour's time. Backstage, we find out Impossibly Rich is Fluttershy in disguise but she and Applejack aren't entirely sure Flim and Flam know what they're doing despite their claim. A bit later, Flim enters just as requested and learns a bit of what Gladmane has in store. Gladmane agrees to the tour and is about to spill information regarding his true colors when the microphone is put into place and he continues his lie. Worse still, Gladmane knew all along he was being tricked and exposes Fluttershy from underneath the costume. Fluttershy and Applejack aren't discouraged and head into Gladmane's office for further protest. Gladmane is impressed that they figured out his plan and spills the whole thing, unaware that Fluttershy has made the admission loud and clear to everyone at the resort. In fact, it was all part of the plan to have the previous ploy be exposed by Gladmane so that he would gloat without hesitation. No one falls for it this time and the celebrities head out, leaving Gladmane to rush out of his office in hopes of getting them back. Back on ground level, Fluttershy and Applejacks' cutie marks signal their time to go home but first they discuss the results with Flim and Flam, whom won't be changing their habits again as they call in the audience to view the spectacle that is Pony Fantastique. |
