Episode 136	The Fault in Our Cutie Marks*	Aired: September 10 2016
While Scootaloo plays with her new friend Petunia (and gets sand in her face), Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle discuss the matter of their task to help understand Petunia's cutie mark. However, the mark is troubling the parents as they feel it's much more ominious but Apple Bloom doesn't see it that way. Scootaloo calls them outside to Petunia's discovery of a bone and now the cutie mark's meaning comes together. Later, the group return to Ponyville and find their latest group of friends they helped get their cutie marks. Scootaloo doesn't think anything could be better but Sweetie Belle notes that they could have a problem one day that can't be solved. As if on cue, Scootaloo finds a new Griffon perched on their clubhouse. However, the very reputation of Griffons leaves the trio hesitant to immediately ask what they want. They eventually head out of the bush to cautiously approach but the Griffon beats them to it and is overly excited to see them. She'd known about them from everyone in Ponyville and reveals herself as Gabriella, or Gaby for short. Gaby resumes her previous overly excited routine as she's met the one trio of ponies that helps others with their problems and has a problem of her own she wants them to solve. Gaby just wants a cutie mark but the crusaders don't have the highest confidence it's going to work out. The group meet in the clubhouse to discuss why Gaby wants a cutie mark in the first place. Gaby uses a flashback to Griffonstone to help explain, which includes the mean-spirited side of griffons as she delivered their mail. Regardless of the story, Gaby wants to have a cutie mark magically appear,  but it's not how it works as cutie marks just kind of appear and it may not be a phenomenon griffons get to experience. While Gaby heads out to deliver a letter to Rainbow Dash, the Cutie Mark Crusaders discuss whether it's really impossible to get a griffon a cutie mark before going to get confirmation from Twilight. At Twilight's castle, it's an unheard of phenomenon and Twilight has to remind them that using magic to make a cutie mark appear isn't feasible either. Twilight's research tells her that the odds are incredibly slim that a griffon can get a cutie mark, leaving the trio uncertain as to what to tell Gaby. Once outside, things don't get any better until Scootaloo notes they can still help Gaby find her purpose. They arrive to find Gaby making a surprise entrance with a hug. Scootaloo tries to break the news but Gaby heads off with delight before the news can be broken to her. Gaby remains excited even when the trio returns to their clubhouse. They finally get Gaby to stop and she enters right when she hears the terrible news regarding her cutie mark. However, the sadness is short lived as Gaby doesn't take the news seriously and is delighted to find out that they'll help any way they can to find her purpose and flies out once more. Though their task may be impossible, it doesn't mean they can't try so they agree to do just that and bring Gaby to their chart to find her purpose. Gaby doesn't even know where to start so the trio get a song started that has Gaby dancing along as they proceed. One-by-one, Gaby proves she's more than capable of doing the task but by the song's end, they've done everything on their list and don't have a purpose. Worse still, Gaby returns, asking what her purpose is but they have less-than good news for her and she heads off in tears, refusing to believe what she's just heard. The CMCs are in deep regret and head back to their clubhouse empty handed. Just when they feel like they've perhaps just failed entirely, Gaby appears with a mark of her own, leaving Sweetie Bellie in shock, confusion and disbelief all at once. Regardless, the group are excited and want Twilight to know but that makes Gaby uneasy (and it's clear she's lying given her shifty-eyed expression). Gaby heads off with her excuse and suggests they meet at Twilight's castle. Once the trio arrive, they learn Gaby dropped off a letter to them and headed off. Stranger still, the letter indicates Gaby isn't coming to the castle at all. Twilight is too excited about a griffon getting a cutie mark and starts a research project without any thought. She'll need Gaby to come back but Apple Bloom is suspicious about the story and not coming to the castle despite saying she would. They head outside and find Gaby helping Time Turner/Dr Whooves get his cart out of the mud and she's in no mood to chat.  She's successful in her task but falls in the mud, allowing Apple Bloom to realize it's not a real cutie mark after all. The mark was about making the three of them feel better more than herself. Gaby apologizes before deciding to head back to Griffonstone but the trio were just sorry they couldn't come through and feel that an apology isn't necessary. Scootaloo gets an idea and instructs Gaby to clean up, then meet at their clubhouse. When Gaby arrives, she's still down about what happened but the three of them had been thinking and realized that each time Gaby tried out the different things, she helped others and she even helped the three of them. It's enough proof for them to realize that Gaby is just like them. In fact, they've decided to make Gaby a part of the Cutie Mark Crusaders and have made Gaby a copy of their own cutie marks. The group throw a cutiecinera for Gaby and she's overjoyed about it and is going home to try and help Griffonstone feel the same way she does. All the Cutie Mark Crusaders want is for her to come back soon and the four of them give a high-five.
