Episode 134 Dungeons and Discord Aired:
August 27 2016
We find Fluttershy packing some things and Discord gets all excited, thinking it's a surprise vacation for the two of them. Unfortunately, it's for a tour of Yakyakistan with the rest of the Mane Six as per Celestia's invitation. Discord plays off being denied so Fluttershy suggests hanging out with Big Mac and Spike on their usual top secret boys night. Discord doesn't take the suggestion seriously but doesn't like the idea as a whole, taking it so far as to invert the room's colors and cause both of them to be the opposite of who they really are. It doesn't phase Fluttershy as she suggests to expand his circles and tries a little reverse psychology.
Discord doesn't fall for the trick, nor really considers the idea of making new friends and surprises her with an apperance inside her backpack begging her to take him with instead. At the train station, Discord is pretty well set to say goodbye but can't help to add an active volcano in the way of the train's path to Fluttershy's disapproval. Discord fixes just as the others arrive ready to go. Pinkie Pie is so well prepared that she brings up the Yeti in Yakyakistan but Rainbow Dash is ready to take it down if necessary. The train arrives and Big Mac is in such a rush to start the fun that he personally pushes Applejack onto the train.
The train begins departing and the duo eventually hold down their excitement to wave goodbye before secretly discussing the presence of Discord. Discord shows no interest and magically conjures up a magazine to hide himself. It doesn't work as Spike and Big Mac not only walk over to him but ask him to join them for the evening. Discord isn't interested until they bring up that it's a guys night with perhaps some of the things he enjoys himself.
In fact, Discord goes out of his way to play secretary with Princess Celestia being said secretiary under the name June and is willing to accept the time of the festivities before disappearing. Sunset arrives to Spike and Big Mac's excitement but Discord decides to make his grand entrance that includes copies of himself big and small. Despite the fact that they're not going anywhere special to play, they are playing fun games and Discord tries to figure out which one.
The game in question needs to be setup so Spike asks them to wait a bit. When they're called in, they're greeted to Spike trying to be scary as he introduces the Ogres and Oubliettes game they're about to play. It's not a game that Discord (nor I) is interested in playing but Big Mac and Spike are all-too-excited to get started.
Before they begin, since Discord is new, he needs a character but Discord isn't interested in changing his name for the sake of the character so Spike opts to help out.
Regardless, Discord shows no interest in the game and tries to change the game in his favor but Spike sticks to the rules and the results don't work out for Discord at all. Spike and Big Mac are in hysterics over the story's progression while Discord, unwittingly playing along to some extent, cannot stand to play anymore and tries taking the duo to places he enjoys. When Spike protests against Discord, Discord takes them into the game for real.
Though a surprise, Spike and Big Mac find themselves having fun until their evil foe from the RPG game appears. Spike and Big Mac run but Squizzard's army surrounds them and fires their cardboard arrows with Discord narrating. Luckily, they get a high enough roll to avoid their defeat. The duo hide behind another die cutout before finding Discord interferring. Spike and Big Mac feel real pain and don't like what Discord is doing. They only invited him because they felt bad. It's enough of a shock for Discord to bring them back to reality before learning the circumstances that brought their actions.
Discord decides to leave, claiming to have other friends to be with but Big Mac and Spike share no remorse until after he's gone. Spike tries to get the game going but they can't seem to move on without Discord and agree to give him another chance. They summon him back but he has trouble appologizing for his actions until eventually he gets the words out. Spike and Big Mac agree to have the game for real again because it was better than the game itself, even if it was terrifying. The only catch is Discord must tone down the events a bit. Discord agrees and by the time the Mane Six come in the door, the game is underway.
Twilight suggests they leave until the game is over but Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash want to take part and promptly jump into the game to fight.
