Episode 120	The Gift of Maud Pie	Aired: April 2 2016
On the train, Pinkie Pie cannot contain her exciitement like Rarity as they're going to Manehattan to open up a boutique there to go along with the currently successful one. It's a business trip for Rarity but even she finds herself in awe over Manehattan's looks. When they arrive, they find Maud at the bottom of the steps, which only adds to Pinkie Pie's excitement. However, Rarity's excitement is gone but learns that Pinkie Pie and Maud do a new trip every year whereby they swap gifts at sunset and it's the perfect place for Pie Sister Surprise Swap Day, the name of the event but Rarity has to have it spelt out for her. While Maud scopes out a postcard for Boulder, Pinkie Pie gets Rarity to help her out with the perfect gift as Maud always has the better gift (which is hard to believe given her nature). Pinkie Pie has found a store that has it but it's all the way downtown so Rarity helps create a plan whereby the two of them will look for their respective places while keeping Maud out of the loop. However, Pinkie Pie's excitement once again goes too far and lets everyone know. They start with the pony statue of liberty where Rarity and Maud hang out at the top but with different enjoyable moments while Pinkie Pie flies up from above on her Party Cannon. Next they find perhaps the narrowest space for Rarity's boutique but Rarity doesn't like it so they move on to the ice rink, where Maud shows off a rather impressive ice skatting move. They head to a restaurant but Pinkie Pie decides to use the menu like one for fillies and draws on it before Rarity stops her and drags her into faking her indecision to order. With that done, Maud remains no less suspicious and Pinkie heads off, leaving Rarity to ask about how Boulder and Maud first met. Pinkie Pie arrives at the store but it takes a police pony to tell her that the store is just as closed as the sign claims. While Pinkie panics over what to do next, Maud finishes her story with Rarity just before a waiter passes them by. Pinkie arrives and Rarity keeps her fake story going before learning the unsuccessful trip Pinkie had. As a result, Rarity orders a massive sundae to help keep the ordeal between them but Pinkie Pie uses it to cry in after she explains what happened. Rarity assures they'll get another gift and have plenty of time left. Neither the gift shop items, nor the jewelry interest Maud so Rarity gets serious and shows her everything from every store in town. However, a crack in the ground is what gets Maud's attention. It's all the proof Rarity needs to conclude that Maud is impossible to shop for but Maud loses Boulder and wishes she had something to carry him in when she finds him. The rock pouch was indeed the perfect gift to Pinkie but they spot one on another pony and rush over to hopefully make a bargain. The pony is willing to part with it for the right price and Pinkie is so happy she celebrates with her Party Cannon, which catches the pony's eye. In fact, he'll trade the pouch for the cannon, leaving Pinkie with quite the dilemma. Pinkie arrives just as Maud and Rarity discuss the ever-exciting crack in the ground. Rarity gets the perfect shot of Maud beind the fissure but wants to know how the trade went. Pinkie made the trade alright but her expression and reaction isn't what Rarity has come to expect and shows us her best impression until she realizes the Party Cannon is missing. Rarity would love to help Pinkie but needs to know what her problem is but learning that the Party Cannon was the trade for the rock pouch comes as a total shock. What matters is Pinkie's gift is just as good as Maud's so they head off to have a picnic near the swans. However, they have a song to sing before they swap gifts but it's short and nearly only Pinkie Pie singing it. Finally it's time to swap gifts but the duo carefully inspect them first and it's more than Rarity can take so she makes them open their gifts more quickly. Pinkie loves her gift but learns it's the very stuff that would've been used for her Party Cannon had she still been in its possession. Maud takes Boulder to "play" with the giant boulder, asking them to play nice but overhears Rarity mentioning the trade for the Party Cannon so Rarity changes the subject. However, Maud is suspicious without showing it so Rarity is forced to come clean and reveals all. Pinkie finishes up the last of her confetti when Rarity calls her over to explain to Maud why she gave away her Party Cannon. Pinkie explains everything and Maud heads out to reverse the trade. They arrive as dusk approaches as Maud used her Maud Sense to find the pony she gave the cannon to and said cannon is still in the condition it was in, if not better. Maud requests the pony to make the trade but the pony refuses so Rarity gets him to see Maud's non-existant angry side and make the trade after Maud requests again. Pinkie returns to see the pony cowering in fear but the group heads off anyway. Since Maud has given Pinkie two gifts, Pinkie knows she'll need to step it up for next year but Maud reminds her it's not a competition but an affection of love. She'll always love Pinkie Pie and her gift and the duo hug before Rarity returns. Before they leave, Rarity decides to show them the future home of her Rartiy For You Boutique and it's the perfect spot to Pinkie and Maud. Furthermore, Pinkie has added Rarity to the tradition she and Maud celebrate each year. Rarity isn't so thrilled as she only has a year to get the perfect gift but is reminded to give it with love. Of course, Pinkie goes through so much confetti in a day that she could use more for next year's gift and fires off another round from her Party Cannon.
