Episode 119 The Crytstalling (Part 2) Aired:
March 26 2016
The Mane Six and others remain where the shattered Crystal Heart is and try to make sense of what's about to unfold. It's not clear to Rarity and Applejack why this didn't happen back when Sombra ruled but the Crystal Heart was just hidden away not destroyed. Rainbow Dash wants to tackle the clouds herself but Celestia stops her to explain that the weather this far north has a mind of its own and is thus not like any storm clouds they know. While they brace for the worst, Spike continues looking on the long list of steps for an answer.
Sunburst doesn't see how anything on the list will be of use but has several books to potentially solve their ordeal. Spike finds an answer and it's not one they enjoy as it involves possibly revealing something they regret doing. The duo fake being disappointed and Starlight drags a tied up Spike out of the house. Meanwhile, Twilight figures a Spell must exist to restore the Crystal Heart but if there is, Celestia and Luna don't know about it but do have the power to at least hold the storm at bay for a little while.
With that, Twilight heads behind the curtain with Cadence to make sure the crowd gets somewhere warm and not to mention the Crystal Heart while the two of them search. Fluttershy, Applejack and Rainbow Dash head out with their duties but the baby clings onto Pinkie Pie, forcing Pinkie Pie to push her away. As a result, the baby disappears using her magic but they can only hear her and have no idea where she is until Cadence analyzes the sound and leads the way. Outside, Starlight and Spike recall what happened and realize the list is useless but it's Starlight that Sunburst doesn't want to be friends with.
Sunburst may not have said it directly but didn't need to and now they realize that things have changed since they first arrived and race to find out. Back at the Crystalling ceremony, the crowd isn't convinced that they're in any sort of danger or that the Crystalling has been cancelled, even as dark clouds are coming in. Inside the library, neither Twilight and Cadence, nor Shining Armor and Pinkie Pie are having any luck with their task at hoof. Just when it looks like Rarity has the baby where she wants her, the baby's magic allows her to jump past Rarity and continue on her chaotic way.
Starlight and Spike arrive to see the mess and Pinkie Pie gives them the short version of the story of what happened leading up to it. Furthermore, Cadence finds a possible useful book and Twilight agrees when she flips through but the baby continues causing trouble and fires a magical beam that bounces off two objects and right through the book Twilight needs, rendering it virtually useless. Worse still, Twilight had only read it once but her friends have faith that she and Cadence will remember it and head off to get everyone else evacuated. Starlight blames herself for what happened but it's not her fault.
Starlight just didn't have good luck with Sunburst but mentioning that he's a potential wizard prompts Cadence to suggest bringing Sunburst there to help. It's enough to excite Starlight and she heads off with Spike tagging along. As the storm rages outside, the duo arrive and explain their situation to Sunburst, whom wasn't even aware of the unfolding events outside, let alone everything else. However, to their surprise, Sunburst says he cannot help due to his load of important wizarding work he has to deal with. Back outside, Applejack, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash are still not convincing them to move, even with temperatures around freezing. Luckily, Shining Armor arrives to take action.
While the crowd is finally moving, Starlight manages to get Sunburst to admit he's not even a wizard and thus cannot help them fix the Crystal Heart. She finds Sunburst in another room and ends up discussing the matter with him where he reveals that he was only reading about magic and never able to actually do it at magic school. Starlight cannot hold in her feelings any longer and admits to what she'd gone through since they last talked but Sunburst isn't disapointed and regrets not staying in touch all this time. It's alright now that they've worked things out and Twilight would be proud of them if they can get out in time.
They were supposed to evacuate and Starlight starts to force Sunburst out the door when Sunburst realizes about the Crystalling and finds several possible books to help out. As Celestia and Luna continue to fight back, even as they're coated with ice and snow, the crowd is racing ahead on the ground below. Rainbow Dash helps out with the storm clearing before rejoining the crowd. However, Starlight, Sunburst and Spike are in their way and state they must go back as Sunburst has found a solution. Back at the site of the Crystal Heart, Twilight gets down what she and Cadence believe is right and try it out.
However it fails and Twilight is out of ideas. Luckily, the others arrive and Sunburst notes that the spell that was previously thought to work is no good as it'd need to be combined with something else to actually be successful. Sunburst hands out spells to everyone in hopes to combine the original spell used with their's. While the princesses and Starlight work together, the others head off with the baby and get her into place for the Crystalling. Things get in motion as Sunburst picks the crystal and the powers released travel throughout the Crystal Empire. Sunburst puts the crystal into the Crystal Heart and its powers are not only restored but everyone in town takes on a crystal appearance.
The storm clouds clear and everyone approves of the Crystalling ceremony. Sunburst did quite well for a non-wizard and may be more of a wizard than he thinks. At the train station, Twilight's parents have arrived, having been delayed by the weather and bring up needing to name the baby. Cadence and Shining Armor had already thought of Flurry Heart in honor of the events that unfolded and Twilight approves. Feet away, Starlight figures that Sunburst is a wizard whether he likes it or not but while Sunburst is a Crystaller with much to do, he'll try to keep in touch more often and hugs Starlight.
On the train, Twilight isn't so happy now as she feels she still has much to learn about being a teacher and even though everything went as planned, she wasn't responsible. As the train begins to depart, Spike gets Twilgiht to recall that she did for Starlight what Celestia did for her way back when.
