Episode 114 Hooffields and McColts Aired:
Novemer 14 2015
In her cottage, Fluttershy and her animals have obtained a copy of their book for discussion when Flutterhy's cutie mark summons her to the map in Twilight's castle. When she arrives, she discovers Twilight has not only been summoned as well but has been spending those 5 minutes researching. They'll be going to the Smokey Mountains, which seems to have very little information other than what Twilight was able to find and the duo are excited to go.
With their backpacks ready to go, they set out but poor Fluttershy has twice the load to carry all the way to their hot-air balloon. They arrive and Twilight remains buzzing with questions as to what they're going to face but they find it's much more serious as pumpkins start whizzing between them. They head down to find the source being the Hooffields as the family is attacking their neighbors, sharing what they've done but Twilight wants to find out about the McColts to hopefully put an end to their fighting provided the Hooffields cease throwing pumpkins until then.
With the agreement decided, Twilight and Fluttershy find the McColts suspicious that two ponies they'd never seen before have arrived since they don't get many visitors. The doors are opened and they're greeted to Big Daddy McColt, whom shares his family's side of the story. Since the McColts know that the Hooffields would rather throw pumpkins than listen to them, Twilight heads to between the peaks to try and end the fighting with a speech
Despite Twilight's confidence that it's been solved, their cutie marks aren't glowing and they're being pelted with tomatoes. Fluttershy and Twilight fly over to find out why and learn that it was a misunderstanding from Ma Hooffield and she orders a ceasefire. However, the ceasefire is very short-lived as they're pelted with hay bales. It's time to get down to what started the feud and despite their claims, neither family remembers what started it all.
Twilight convinces Ma Hooffield to deliver a cake to the McColts. However, it proves to be the old Trojan Horse ploy as the McColts pop out of the cake and open fire once the cake is inside. Ma Hooffield didn't think Twilight was serious about apologizing and the fighting resumes harder than ever before. Fluttershy finds herself alone in the midst of the feud as Twilight has pulled away to rip more pages out of her book. Fluttershy needs Twilight to help out but after letting some animals come to her for comfort, the animals reveal the full story.
Twilight literally puts the fighting on hold while Fluttershy explains the full story where a simple disagreement turned into a feud. The families make amends and are accepted. They agree not to fight but end up nearing a new feud until the animals break it up. A truce is finally made and the rebuilding process begins. When it's done, there's a new fountain with each side's family member on top. With the agreement to help each other out, Twilight and Fluttershy are summoned back home as Twilight wonders what awaits them there.
