Episode 42	Read it and Weep	Aired: February 4 2012
Outside, Rarity and Pinkie Pie are following Rainbow Dash as she speeds through the sky with Twilight showing up to watch as well. Unfortunately, they all watch RD's unfortunate crash landing.  RD awakens to find that she'll need 3 days' minimum stay in the hospital but RD protests that she has things to do, adding that her stay might as well be more. Her friends try to cheer her up (well I'd probably feel a bit better knowing that someone nearby is in worse shape than I am) but when RD literally turns the other cheek, Twilight grabs a book from the cart (which happens to parody the first book in the Harry Potter series). However, RD is SO not interested in reading, claiming that it's for eggheads like Twilight (well who beat who in the Running of the Leaves? Oh yeah, an egghead like Twilight). The others snicker and says reading is for everyone (not much of a reader myself but I'd probably give it a shot). Pinkie Pie's bewildering story aside, the nurse enters to tell the others to leave and let RD get her rest. Before leaving, Twilight gives a final nod to the book hero by saying she's much like RD herself. Of course, RD can't sleep and tries to kill time but only succeeds in getting a minute to pass. Finding nothing else to do, RD picks up the book and reads, finding out how right Twilight was about Daring Doo (literally if you look at her character. I would consider her RD's cousin myself!). DD finds herself caught between (what looks to be) a jaguar and a puma but manages to reach the other side, directly in front of the temple she'd been searching for. RD now loves the story and reading but refuses to admit that to herself or her friends as she's now, to her horror,  an egghead. Back in the story, DD narrowly escapes the traps before arriving at the statue inside the temple but RD returns to reality before anything else as Fluttershy and Twilight enter with RD's favorite board game (a parody of Battleship), knowing how much RD likes to win. However, still focused on the book, RD purposely loses the game before succeeding in getting them to walk out of the room. DD meanwhile gets the statue out before encountering another being with Pinkie Pie's voice as PP, Rarity and AJ enter.  AJ enters to get some fresh air into the room before RD is given her dinner, which she eats in such a manner that the others leave. We find DD surrounded by the same animals from before and is then tied up and given more than the classic closing wall with spikes scenario. Before we can find out what happens next, the doctor enters to say RD is free to go but to stay off the wing a little longer. He and a nurse escort RD out by wheelchair, leaving the book behind and RD's attempts to get back inside are in vain. Later that night, however, RD decides to sneak inside but when caught by the new patient in her former room, she bolts out the door with other ponies hot on her tail. The chase ends at Twilight's house as they discover it's RD (and we discover a barking.....pony as the other noise) and the ruckus has woken her friends up. Completely surrounded, RD explains everything and darts off to finish the book, asking Spike to write the letter. DD, using her hat as a slingshot, manages to get out and take the statue, leaving an unhappy Alwizoto (if I heard and spelt it right) behind. With one book down, RD picks up the next in the series, more excited than before.
