Episode 35 Sweet and Elite Aired:
December 3 2011
In Canterlot, Celestia shows a delighted Rarity her temporary room, explaining that Twilight Sparkle had mentioned about Rarity coming and Rarity literally can't thank Celestia enough and offers no help to the pony with the huge load of (presumably Rarity's) baggage just in front of the room's entrance. Luckily for him, the spot where he collapses is just where Rarity wants the bags. Later, Rarity and Opal are sitting at a table and Rarity ponders what to do for a thank you gift for Twilight and figures a dress for her upcoming Saturday birthday is perfect.
Two other ponies arrive, asking about Rarity's hat and a third pony window washing loses his footing and ends up dangling upside down just inches from Rarity's face, asking about their earlier meeting at the "big hoedown" in Ponyville the previous Autumn. Whatever his name is, he tells Rarity he's doing fine before the rope he's dangling from snaps and he tumbles to the ground. The other two ponies are disgusted to hear that Rarity is from Ponyville and walk away (which is almost like what, incidentally enough, some Bronies do when they see a person that likes pre FiM ponies. They basically hate G3s for whatever reason).
Back in her Canterlot room, Rarity is determined to make something worthy of Canterlot, then darts back and forth respectively to get necessary supplies before bumping into another couple with one of which being named as Fancy Pants, whom invites her to a Wonderbolts Derby that afternoon. Once again returning to her suite at the castle, she considers the pros and cons of taking part in the Derby. Her final decision puts her at the Wonderbolts Derby while Opal gazes back at what Rarity probably should've chosen.
At the Derby, there's a brief discussion on whom they think will win before the race begins. As she predicted, Fleetfoot, one of the new Wonderbolts, or at least previously unnamed Wonderbolts, wins the race. Rarity explains that Rainbow Dash told her about Fleetfoot earlier and, lying through her teeth, says RD is the Wonderbolts' trainer. She is given three cheers for being Fancy Pants' new favorite party guest before Rarity is brought with a dilemma that she brings to a close with another lie that she'll be there (a lie in that she'll be at all three places, which she can't).
At her suite for the third time, she remembers that making Twilight's dress is still her top priority before opening in her first song of FiM Season 2 while partaking in various activities. She returns to her suite once again as her song finishes, putting Twilight's dress together and ignores Opal's hints once more. The next morning, just before she can leave, an invitation to the Garden Party arrives, along with another dilemma. Her decision becomes unanimous when she realizes that the Garden Party is far too important and writes a letter to Twilight.
The poor male pony is relieved to not have any bags to carry but gets a request t help unpack them and takes another tumble to the ground. She opens the door to find her friends waiting for her as Twilight explains about moving her party here. Rainbow Dash asks about Rarity's outfit and out comes another lie (it's surprising that none of her friends are suspicious about the look on her face) and unfortunately for Opal, a bad hair day. Rarity is relieved to find out that Twilight loves the dress and promptly discards the dress design into the nearby trash can. Each statement her friends make is a reminder of the other event Rarity is trying to take part in at the same time and after a bit of partaking in Twilight's party, she heads outside with another excuse for her cake smell.
She darts off, starting a back-and-forth routine to stay at both parties before she's caught with the croquet mallet in her mouth and the group decide to check out the party with Rarity after Twilight gives Rarity the green light to head outside. Much like the Grand Galloping Gala celebration, things are going awry with the Main 6's activities until Rarity admits the truth. Fancy Pants agrees, much to the other ponies' shock and ridicule. Rarity make her final return back to her suite to recite her letter to Celestia, whom comes practically out of nowhere before that male pony requests a quicker lesson wrap-up before losing his strength to hold the mountain of luggage again.
