Episode 13	Fall Weather Friends	Aired: January 28 2011
Somewhere in Ponyville, Applejack and Rainbow Dash are playing Horseshoes but aren't doing very well until AJ nails her next throw. Uh-oh! At 0:15 into the episode, Rainbow Dash's blue horseshoe is in front of Applejack's yellow one but at 0:46 into the episode, Applejack throws another horseshoe and Applejack's first one is in front! RD hates losing and while AJ agrees that RD is a good athlete, she considers herself better. RD decides to challenge AJ to an Iron Pony competition and AJ willingly agrees. AJ and RD explain why Twilight is here then their competition begins with Spike being their commentator and announcer but only to Rarity, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy as they approach. AJ is up first to weave through the barrels and ends up with 17 seconds, breaking her record at the previous year's rodeo she took place in but racks up another 5 seconds for tapping the barrel. RD wins that part of the competition with 18 seconds. While RD dings the bell on one of those "test your strength" things, AJ's bucking destroys the target and sends the bell skyrocketing into the air, leaving RD astonished and with a few apples falling on her head courtesy of AJ. (I thought Twilight was going to be keeping score but apparently Fluttershy is doing that instead.) It's back and forth for AJ and RD as they each continue to win every other event with Spike the only real one losing but they now have a large crowd watching. With the final event, RD wins as AJ tries to call RD a cheater but ends up in the mud yet continues calling RD a cheater (and she's right for we clearly saw RD using her wings for both the Tug-of-War and whatever that chick-carrying event was). AJ challenges RD to race in the Running of the Leaves competition and RD agrees. Later, Spike gets his hopes of being announcer thwarted when he and Twilight hear it's Pinkie Pie and she's up in a balloon. Spike starts to ask if he can join her but bags it yet PP figures it out and lets him hop aboard. Down below, RD boasts that she can win with her wings tied behind her back so AJ agrees and literally gets RD's wings tied. Right before the race begins, Twilight shows up, insisting that she's taking part in the race but neither AJ nor RD take her seriously. With the race underway, PP and Spike have a brief conversation involving fudge, and the grudge match between RD and AJ, whom are well ahead until AJ trips over a rock and blames RD for it and Twilight has to tell her the real reason. AJ darts off while Twilight continues at her own pace. Now RD trips over a stump and blames AJ for it and Twilight again has to make a correction.  It isn't long before RD catches up and the two of them start cheating on one another in various ways before finding themselves on a rocky cliff that gives way and narrowly avoids hitting the other runners. At last they see the finish line but are shocked to hear that they tied for last place while Twilight took 5th place. As an added shocker, Princess Celesta appears, explaining that she  loves fall and came to celebrate the competition. She also understands a lesson was learned here and Twilight recites it but there's one problem. With AJ and RD's bickering, they left some trees with leaves still on trees so AJ and RD agree to help.
