Episode 8 | Look Before You Sleep | Aired: December 3 2010 |
While some pegasai gather clouds for an impending
storm, Applejack and Rarity are dealing with tree branches when Rarity
decides to be creative with one of the limbs but Applejack tears it
down, telling her to only take down the broken branches (How can you
tell they're broken in the first place?), then asks if Rarity cares
about anything except prettifying. Rarity protests that someone has to
with the mess Applejack is making of the town square. Applejack
says that the storm will make a bigger mess if they don't tear down the
branches. Rarity can't see why the pegasai would schedule a storm on a
what would've been a sunny day. (I wonder what would happen if these
pegasai were to either get sick, not be fully energized or become
possessed by an evil force? Though it'd be nice to ask them when the next storm was going to be). Applejack says they have to make up for it since they skipped last week (so they have a storm each week? Sounds good to me!). It starts raining and Rarity complains that her mane will be ruined but Applejack tells her that she should've hurried up but shows her a place to take cover while she herself finishes up with the branches. However, the bench has mud underneath and Rarity doesn't want to get her hoofs muddy, nor does she see any use for muddy hooves. Applejack says Rarity wouldn't know usefulness if it came up and bit her and the two of them quarrel over on whether or not it makes sense until Rarity wins with infinity plus 1 (which actually is technically impossible since infinity goes on forever anyway). The two of them come to somewhat of an agreement to go their separate ways but when they do, they continue glaring at each other but a flash of lightning and crackle of thunder brings them together as they agree to find some shelter. Applejack sort of finds a dry spot but it's unacceptable to Rarity. Twilight calls them inside but Applejack stops short, questioning about trees and lightning but Twilight says it's safe since her house has a lightning rod. She enters but Rarity stops her and tells her to wash up first. Applejack is getting very annoyed and quietly announces that she cannot be held responsible for what she may do. Twilight decides they should have a slumber party, something she herself has always wanted but Rarity can't bare to be with Applejack all night as she gazes out the window to see Applejack struggling with the hose. Applejack enters with wet but clean hooves to see Rarity putting a mud mask on Twilight and get confused until Rarity explains and gives Applejack her own makeover but Applejack eats the cucumbers. Twilight is really excited about this slumber party but Rarity and Applejack glare at each other in disagreement. As the storm continues outside, Rarity asks Applejack how she's getting along and is told in an "I'm annoyed but forced to say yes" answer from Applejack. Throughout, Twilight checks off the list of items for a slumber party in her reference guide and restores everyone's mane and tail to normal. Now they start telling ghost stories and both Rarity and Applejack tell ones that are suspiciously similar to each others' actions. After Rarity protests that all ghost stories are made up, the lights go out and Twilight tells the story of the Headless Horse and it scares both Applejack and Rarity. Rarity shows Twilight how to make smores while Applejack makes roasted marshmallows, then goes and eats the smore, burping loudly and saying that he was about to pardon it when Rarity interrupted her. With that, she does pardon it, then Twilight announces they're going to play Truth or Dare and sees Rarity and Twilight arguing, unsure if that's how the game is played. They agree to take each other's dares but Twilight doesn't understand what a pillow fight is. Rarity doesn't want to even take part in it but ends up being part of it anyway and finally Twilight understands and takes a blow from a few pillows. Her request to have Rarity and Applejack take their pillow fight down a notch is denied so she requests to have them all get some sleep but Rarity and Applejack quarrel there too, leaving Twilight angry and asking if anything else could go wrong and mother nature strikes a tree. Applejack tries to stop it from falling but it ends up inside their house instead. Rarity decides to clean up everything else in the house as Applejack pleads for her to help get rid of the tree and it eventually works. Rarity converts the tree into "mini trees" if you will that are done with leaves in the shape of ponies and ends up being a mess that gets cured with cucumbers over her eyes. Finally the two of them hug each other and start playing 20 Questions but aren't getting the answer Twilight is looking for, even after they run out of questions. At last the 3 of them are having a good time as Twilight writes another letter to Celestia, then suggests a few dates for the next slumber party as the skies clear outside. |
