Movie | The Runaway Rainbow (Part 2) | Released: September 12, 2006 |
Spike at first tries
to figure out what the story of Unicornia is and finds it in his book,
which starts reacting to Rarity's magic wand before setting itself and
Rarity back down on the ground. Spike recites the story before Rarity
explains why it also isn't her fault that she's here by waving the wand.
With that, she disappears but reappears on Spike's head requesting to do
it again but to Spike's disapproval. Spike believes he can be of
assistance and shows them a map of several castles and what they
celebrate. As they gaze at the map, Rarity sees the 2nd shooting star
for Whistle Wishes, causing more color to disappear from the rainbow
worm's body. Uh-oh! After Rainbow Dash explains why she's going, at
26:38 into the movie, we see
Rarity with a larger horn when compared with earlier! The ponies have a good laugh before setting out (with
all but Spike and Rarity having their eyes closed for whatever reason)
as Spike explains that the Breezies looking for a place to sleep (or
rather playing hide-and-seek while simultaneously messing with the
beehive, then having a taste of the honey that they become covered
with). Pinkie Pie asks if Spike is sure he knows where he's going and Spike says the map is very clear and they'll stay right on course, all except Rarity, whom is playing with a butterfly on the edge of the cliff before falling in and (you guessed it) it's not her fault. It's alright, though because the others will help her as they form a pulley from a branch but the branch snaps, sending Pinkie Pie and Minty into the water and clinging to a rock just short of Rarity. Back near the hive, Zipzee says it's too bad the others can't enjoy the honey and realize their problem. Back in the water, Pinkie Pie and Minty lose their grip on the rock and Rarity tries to catch them but only ends up slipping off of the rock she was holding on to and instructs the others to grab the tail in front of them but they're approaching the waterfall. Rainbow Dash and Spike argue about who is going to save the others but the Breezies get there first and one by one, the trio is moved onto the ground again with Rarity being saved within inches of the falls. Spike and Rainbow Dash are shocked to hear that Rarity found her situation in the water fun and wanting to replay the whole thing. The Breezies show where they want everyone to camp for the night and they love it. At their own campsite, Brights Brightly says they'll look again in the morning. Rarity couldn't have gone too far. Back at the other campsite, the ponies toast marshmallows as Rainbow Dash asks if the others have an extra pillow and they gladly toss several at her, then the Breezies sleep separately, at least for the first few seconds before moving in to sleep with Zipzee. Rarity can't seem to sleep though and neither can Cheerilee at her campsite but she says she will in a little while. Brights Brightly and Whistle Wishes need their rest while Cheerilee and Rarity from their campsites respectively join for a song about being far apart. After their song ends, the two of them question about what they did and finally Rarity admits that it's entirely her fault and by now, her shooting star darts across the sky so Rarity must get back to Unicornia right away and awakens Spike's dream of being king along with everyone else. The ponies notice that something's wrong with Rainbow Dash's hair but it's not until RD looks in the water that she notices her colors are nearly gone. She's not Pink Dash, she's Rainbow Dash! Rarity puts out the fire and both campsites pack up with WW and BB complaining that it's still dark out. At Cheerilee's former campsite, Spike appears, scaring the 3 unicorns and announces not getting tired of that. To the unicorns' surprise, Rarity appears from behind the bushes and they ask where she was before being introduced to Spike by Rarity. Even more surprisingly is that Rarity didn't lose the magic wand and she manages to call the rainbow carriage! They all climb aboard the carriage and set off with the fourth and final shooting star following behind them. When they arrive back in Unicornia, everything rainbow colored is quickly turning white as the unicorns rush to get under the crystal dome. Their first attempt fails and Cheerilee blames herself but Rarity now knows all the wrongs she committed and gets Cheerilee to come back for a 2nd try, which works and the rainbow restores color to once rainbow-free areas of Unicornia. The unicorns minus Rarity realize they have a ceremony to perform and quickly get it underway with Rarity's horn growing (not sure whether this is a mistake or part of the ceremony) and the group sings a song, then celebrate Rarity's accomplishment of becoming princess. |
