My Little Pony Tales Episode 26 Summary

Episode 26	Who's Responsible?	Aired: December 25, 1992
At the ICS, Starlight is serving sundaes when Bright Eyes bursts in the door, saying there is pollution in the river. Melody doesn't think it's such a big deal. She thought Bright Eyes was going to say something important. Bright Eyes tells them it IS important as there's pollution in the river. She explains the problems that could arise if it gets much worse. Bon Bon needs food before they go but Starlight says they don't have time to eat so Bon Bon requests to make the sundae to go. Bright Eyes says they'll meet back there later. She's going to put it in the newspaper. Meanwhile, Bon Bon and Clover(or just Clover in this case) talk about how her dad will be so proud of her but Bon Bon thinks about the sundae she just finished eating and naturally throws the plastic bowl into the river. Bon Bon doesn't see anything wrong with it. After all, it's just one plastic bowl, isn't it? They arrive at the ice cream factory as Bon Bon recites the many flavors it makes. They duck behind a rock as a truck passes by and they decide to sneak into it. They figure that it's full of garbage to be dumped into the river but Clover can't understand it when they see it's filled with ice cream instead. The delivery pony catches them and lets it go since he himself snuck in a taste as well but warns them not to do it again, not believing at all that they're on a mission. Elsewhere with Sweetheart and Patch, Sweetheart can't understand what they're doing here. Patch tells her that this is his stuff from his secret spy kit and they're waiting for the criminals to make a mistake. They see a barge taking off and catch a conversation from two of the barge's ponies on board as Patch figures they're talking about the garbage. They're going to be heroes, at least according to Patch as Sweetheart isn't so sure. Despite this, Patch find whom she thinks is the polluter and attempts to stop them only to find it's a recycling center. At least Sweetheart got a new hat but Sweetheart doesn't know what to do with it so Patch removes the tag and throws it in the river. With Starlight and Melody, Melody says to give it up since she wants to listen to her new album, and throws the wrapper into the river. Starlight decides to head back, figuring that maybe the others found something but when they arrive, they hear that no one else has found anything. Bright Eyes isn't willing to give up and has been given permission to hang her posters all over Ponyland. Later that night, an intense storm causes the river to be backed up and flood Ponyland. Bright Eyes awakens to find this out and rescued from her room by raft from her parents. Bon Bon's dad goes to help unclog the river and they succeed but the group on the raft discover that they were the polluters .(Wait, what happened to the river? Shouldn't it have receded to normal instead of completely drying up?) The group set off to let everyone know what's going on with pollution and to clean up the litter (though Melody still at first isn't caring) in song.
