Episode 54 | The Quest of the Princess Ponies (Part 4) | Aired: September 10, 1987 |
Lavan continues his assault but after the first
attack, Gnash makes an icy shield to reflect the attack. Luckily, Megan
and Tiffany have arrived by now and dump a blanket over Lavan's head,
allowing the others to escape with the wands. While Wind Whistler and
Heart Throb wait anxiously for things to be restored, Two of the
princess ponies recall a legend of an ancient talisman beneath Lavan's
lair that is capable of recharging the magic wands and they race to find
it. Lavan is back in his lair but when he hears there's no sign of the
prisoners, he heads out to try and find them for himself, considering
the guard incompetent. As the pony group arrives at water, they sing a song about how long a road they'd been on thus far and what they've learned. By the time the song is over, they've arrived at the heart of Ponyland but so has Lavan and he attacks before they can put the wands into place. While Megan and the others cower behind a rock, Wind Whistler takes a last flight look around while Heart Throb flies elsewhere. However, a tree crystallizes and a piece falls on Wind Whistler, pinning her to the ground so Wind Whistler suggests getting help, though it may take too long. Back at the talisman, the ponies give Sludge a plan and Sludge sends Lavan into the lava pit while the Bushwoolies deliver the wands to their owners succesfully. With that, the princess ponies head to the heart of Ponyland while Gnash quickly takes care of Lavan by sealing him in ice. The princess ponies get their wands into place and they're recharged just as Lavan frees himself. The princess ponies must work together and bring their wands together. It's enough power that when Lavan strikes, it reflects back on him, destroying him for good. With Ponyland's magic still chaotic, the princess ponies bring their wands together and make things right by sending the magic back where it belongs, freeing Wind Whistler from the crystallzied branch (though they have the voices switched). As a thanks, Princess Royal Blue decides to knight the Bushwoolies for their efforts and decrees they will guard the crowns just as the princess ponies guard their magic wands. Now the just need a way out and use the rainbow of light to lift them out of the hole as the Lava Demons and Gnash say goodbye. They arrive back at the Royal Paradise and have a picnic where it's decided they will take turns being queen. They still lost the Bushwoolie and the Rainbow of Light but both come running over as the Bushwoolie is carrying the locket and hands it back to Megan before having a snack and getting the last crown. |
