Episode 38 | Fugitive Flowers (Part 1) | Aired: November 5, 1986 |
Masquerade and Whizzer are in the meadow when a crash
interrupts them. They find the culperates are crab-like creatures that
are cutting down the trees. Despite Whizzer's orders, the crabs don't
stop as their captain has ordered them to press on in search for the
Flouries, whom we find on a hill, exhausted from all their running.
Luckily, they've found soil, water and someone to care for them. It's
Posey as she waters her garden and they would be back to normal in no
time if she cared for them that well. However, since Posey doesn't know them, they have to be careful. Posey is so proud of her garden and animals that inhabit it that she sings a song about it. When the song is over, the Flouries approach her with the need for water and soil. Luckily, Posey has the perfect spot for them and had been saving it for her special roses. They still are tuckered out and Megan and Cherries Jubilee arrive to see the commotion. Megan is surprised that not only do the new flowers move but they talk too and learns of their ordeal with the Crabnasties. However, Whizzer and Masquerade realize the Crabnasties were after these flowers and could be headed their way. Sure enough, the Crabnasties push down more trees and move in but Megan and Posey slowly fight back and win. Despite their claims, the Crabnasties are sealed away in a stone prison. That night, the Flouries start their true nature with Masquerade secretly watching. They drain the surrounding land of its nutrients and grow to enormous sizes, only to expose Masquerade's hiding spot. They continue to draw and snare Masquerade as she tries to escape. |
