Episode 164 Marks and Recreation Aired:
September 30 2017
We find the Cutie Mark Crusaders with a friend named Kettle Corn painting. With the painting proven to be less-than-enjoyable, the CMCs wrap-up their day's work and assure that their new friend can find all sorts of things. Unfortunately, their early closure means the other 5 waitng outside leave with disappointment. The trio realize it takes too long to work with the ponies one-by-one so they eventually suggest a Cutie Mark Day Camp. With that, they get things set-up to advertise.
Their efforts manage to get them several fillies and despite Rumble not approving, his dad Thunderlane considers it a possibility. In fact, he uses The Wonderbolts Extravaganza show as a cover story to bring Rumble to the camp. Despite the praise Rumble is getting, Rumble is not happy to be there.  The crowd is so focused on Rumble and his dad that Scootaloo can't draw their attention to her. Before he departs, Thunderlane scores a winning horseshoe toss to the delight of the crowd and it becomes the camp's first activity of the day.
However, Rumble doesn't even bother putting in any effort in and drops the horseshoe on the grass. Kayaking is next and while the others have fun, Rumble hides under the one he would be using to have a drink. Time and time again, Rumble fakes his failure at each activity and tries to make it seem genuine (but even then he's not putting in the effort). By the time the day is done, the painter pony has gotten her cutie mark in haikus with a little help. It's more progress than the CMCs anticpiated they'd get but aren't giving up on Rumble just yet.
In fact, they find him bored with The Wonderbolts flying overhead. They wanted to apologize but Rumble insists he's not mad over the ordeal. Rumble doesn't need their help and doesn't want his cutie mark, words that make it especially hard to swallow for them. Rumble confirms it so they try to talk him out of it (and breathing is manditory so that's not exactly a good comparison to put with not wanting your cutie mark). Rumble finds the idea silly because it restrains those to one idea but the CMCs note it's not all that it seems.
However, Rumble questions Apple Bloom's lack of doing anything else despite having other interests. Rumble heads off, refusing to hear another word and the trio agree that they can't force him to desire his cutie mark.  While the three of them return back to their camp, Rumble has set up an obstacle cource around a race track. He starts his trial run but Thunderlane interrupts him, causing him to fly off course and into the grass. Thunderlane tries to cheer up Rumble but Rumble decides to take his dad's advice the wrong way.
The next day, jam making wraps up but Featherweight was enjoying it and didn't get his cutie mark. The CMCs remind Featherweight of the complex nature of getting a cutie mark, which leaves Featherweight confused until Rumble bursts in the door and assures they don't have to get one. With that, the crowd is drawn away from the table and following Rumble's every word as a song ensues. The CMCs try to protest otherwise but no one in the group listens except Featherweight, whom still can't make sense of it all. By the time the song is over, the group is fully supporting Rumble, whom is starting his own camp on the other side of a dirt line he makes on the ground.
Despite their best efforts, the CMCs watch as their campers depart with Rumble, leaving them to wonder what they did wrong. They peer at the other camp through a spyglass and notice it's not far off from what they had been doing but while Scootaloo says Rumble must be stopped, Sweetie Belle suggests calmly talking to Rumble. Sweetie Belle lets her rage get the best of her and gives Rumble an earful to no avail, leaving Apple Bloom to stand between the feuding ponies.  However, Sweetie Belle notices that Kettle Corn has painted over her cutie mark, leaving her a blank flank again.
When one of the ponies proves they're really good at horseshoe tossing, he fears getting a cutie mark in it so Rumble cancels all activities that could get any of them a cutie mark. Meanwhile, the CMCs have mixed reactions about how their camp has been going but Scootaloo gets an idea as The Wonderbolts fly overhead. They break the news about Rumble to Thunderlane but it's hard for Thunderlane to swallow, especially since Rumble is actually good at everything he faked being bad at. Furthermore, Rumble has changed his attitude ever since Thunderlane became a Wonderbolt member.
It becomes clear to Apple Bloom that Rumble was afraid that getting a cutie mark would keep him from his dream of being a Wonderbolt. With that, they head to Rumble's camp where no one is doing anything for risk of actually getting a cutie mark but that doesn't stop one pony from getting a cutie mark out of literal boredom. Luckily, the CMCs are there to brighten up their day and draw them over to the dirt line as Thunderlane soars through the air over their heads.  Spending a day with a genuine Wonderbolt member is too much for the group to resist and they eventually join the fun, leaving Rumble all alone.
The last activity of the day arrives and it gets Rumble's attention as he's become left out so he eventually hops the dirt line to find his dad cooking, which is something he's come to enjoy from doing so at the Wonderbolts Academy. Rumble joins in and is willing to put off doing the course the next day, which surprises the CMCs given Rumble's words earlier. Rumble will soon see what else he's good at and muddy the CMCs hug.
