Episode 99	The Lost Treasure of Griffonstone	Aired: May 23 2015
At Sugar Cube Corner, Pinkie Pie is baking with Gummy watching and taking in the mess being made. With the ingredients ready, Pinkie Pie takes layer one of fifteen out of the oven when her Cutie Mark calls her attention back to Twilight's castle and the map. Before heading out, Pinkie pie gets Gummy started with the next layer's preparations. Inside Twilight's castle, Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash find out that they're being sent to Griffonstone, the heart of the Griffon Kingdom. Twilight gets out her book and Rainbow Dash reminds her of how rude Gilda was upon arrival to Ponyville. Nevertheless, Twilight shares the Griffon Kingdom's vast history and it was Gilda's appearance that got Twilight into Griffons and she's been hooked ever since. Since Twilight is eager to go, Rainbow Dash agrees to swap places with Twilight to finish her nap but since Twilight wasn't the one summoned, Rainbow Dash is forced to go anyway. On the Friendship Express, while Rainbow Dash reads the book of instructions, Pinkie Pie stocks up on sweets. As the duo head out, Twilight recites what she wrote for them to do. Unfortunately, Griffonstone is not the bright and cheerful place Twilight imagined as not only are things falling apart but the griffons are exactly as Rainbow Dash figured. They'd like to see the king but a familiar voice notes they don't have one. It's Gilda and she shares her residual disgust towards Rainbow Dash and vice-versa. With finding the king out of the question, Pinkie Pie asks about the idol but Gilda is not a believer of its existence and is proven wrong when a different griffon shares its story for two bits and Rainbow Dash reluctantly hands two over. As the story is told, Gilda mocks Grandpa Gruff but he's wise enough to catch her in the act before resuming the story. When the story is done, Pinkie Pie is upset and realizes that the ending is probably why nothing else was recorded. Rainbow Dash realizes that perhaps the map sent them to Griffonstone to find the idol and restore happiness but Gilda maintains that they're happy as is and dumps Pinkie Pie before heading off. Pinkie Pie suggests going to the library for answers but finding the idol is much more exciting so Rainbow Dash heads out, leaving Pinkie Pie to deal with the book. Rainbow Dash arrives at a run-down shop for tools to help her and has to fork over more bits to receive them. Meanwhile, Pinkie Pie talks to Gilda about the supposedly amazing library but Gilda shows where its remains are and heads out angrily. Perhaps it was good Twilight didn't come and Pinkie Pie plays ventriloquism with the nearby statue, breaking its lower beak off. The lack of harmony gives Pinkie Pie ideas but singing is forbidden and no party store or bakery exists. They do have Griffon Scones but as Pinkie Pie finds out, they're literally rock hard and she breaks teeth off. All Gilda wants to do is sell enough so she can leave for good and Pinkie Pie is willing to help. Back at the cliff, Rainbow Dash is having no luck getting answers as all the Griffons want are bits and it's probably why Gilda is so arrogant. Inside Griffonstone, Pinkie Pie makes adjustments to the Scones and puts them in the oven for baking Up above, a griffon named Greda collides with another griffon and falls to the ground, leaving Gilda to be caught in the act of being nice and not accept friends due to the failure of what happened when she had one. Elsewhere, Rainbow Dash learns how harsh the conditions are down below and injures herself but doesn't have the money to get another rope. With that, the griffon heads off and Rainbow Dash gets her hoof bandaged up before sinking deeper into the crevice. Pinkie Pie arrives to offer some help but completely drops the rope and relays what she's learned as the real problem to Griffonstone, scones. She finds Gilda making more scones but Gilda isn't interested in helping but recalls when Rainbow Dash was her friend. It brings a tear to Gilda's eye and Gilda decides to help so long as she's not considered Rainbow Dash's friend. They arrive to see Rainbow Dash fall further down and Pinkie Pie darts in after, leaving Gilda at the top, clinging for dear life. In doing so, Gilda finds the Idol of Boreas but cannot reach it to fully grab it and instead pulls Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash to safety, leaving the idol to disappear into the abyss below. They're more important than the idol but they cannot hug now as the cliff they're sitting on is crumbling away. Back in town, Gilda apologizes for how she treated them and they accept her apology and Pinkie Pie explains that by adding in Friendship, Griffonstone can be better than ever. With a little assistance, Gilda offers Greda a scone successfully. How is Gilda going to make Friendship happen in town when she hasn't made a friend? She's made two friends and before Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash leave, they give each other a hug and wave goodbye. As they head back home, Gummy is no further with the baking.
