Episode 56 | One Bad Apple | Aired: November 24 2012 |
Inside the Sweet Apple Acres Barn, Apple
Bloom struggles to put on a proper outfit, explaining that she wants to
make a good impression since it's her first time meeting her cousin.
When she learns that her cousin also doesn't have her cutie mark, Apple
Bloom bolts out the door, not stopping to hear that her cousin is
supposed to sleep in the room they were just talking in and is now a
mess. Later, at the train station, the train from Manehattan arrives and Apple Bloom looks for her cousin and when she finally arrives, we learn her name is Babs Seed but she doesn't share the same excitedness the CMCs share. The trio take Babs to their clubhouse, sharing what they do but Babs still isn't very thrilled, either to join their club or to even be in their clubhouse so they decide to show her the float that they plan to take her in for the Summer Harvest Parade. Their excitement is torn apart by Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoons' ridicule, which include the float (and to which I point out, Diamond Tiara, your pun is what's lame, not the float). The disruptive duo turn their attention to Babs, questioning whether she'll join but instead of joining them, Babs ridicules them to the delight of DT and SS. Making matters worse, Babs kicks out the supports for the float and the float careens out of the barn before smashing to pieces. DT recruits Babs to her team once Babs threatens to call the CMCs a snitch after Apple Bloom threatens to spill the beans. However, despite Sweetie Belle's suggestion to let Applejack know, Scootaloo and AB decline her request and instead agree to avoid her for the few weeks she's staying with an accompanying song (that I consider to be AWESOME) but to no avail (and I would've thought that Applejack or another family member would've seen the tree shaking). Even their clubhouse has been taken from them and Babs (either intentionally or unintentionally) disconnects the steps leading up to the clubhouse such that the steps are now two separate sections (and in which case I ask how you three think you're getting down or later back up). Poor Sweetie Belle has reached her breaking point and sheds a fountain of tears with her friends well-prepared to handle it. They meet back in (possibly) Scootaloo's house and still refuse to tell anyone about their dilemma. AB gets an idea to embarrass Babs in the parade. Later that night, AB sneaks out of her room to meet with her friends as they assemble their new float, giving Sweetie Belle a golden makeover in the process. Dawn arrives just as they finish and as the parade takes shape, Babs and the bullies arrive with Babs awe-struck and Sweetie Belle at a loss of better words. Babs seizes his chance and promptly pushes the CMCs aside to ride in the float, whose timer has already been activated. Applejack arrives, learning a small tip of their plan against Babs but realize a problem when Applejack explains that Babs' behavior is actually due to being bullied herself. The CMCs' requests to Applejack are drowned out by the parade's noise so they go to rescue Babs themselves using Pinkie Pie's float but Babs uses their float to push back, leaving Pinkie Pie's in ruins. Time runs out on the timer but the CMCs shove Babs out in the knick of time as the float lands in the mud. As they get a bath, they explain to Babs what happened and share apologies with Babs. The trio take Babs to become a member of their club and after a somewhat lengthy procedure, Babs is one of them. Back at the train station, Babs agrees to talk with her sister about the bullying she's been getting and knows that the Apple Family has her back too. DT and SS are disappointed to be stuck with the CMCs but get an earful from Babs, whom scolds them for their behavior (you go, Babs!) and warns to tell their parents about their bad attitudes if they don't stop, leaving DT and SS to back their way into a pile of mud. They'll miss that bad seed but they mean bad as in good and when AJ doesn't understand, the trio have a good laugh. |
