Episode 10	Swarm of the Century	Aired: December 17 2010
In a field, Fluttershy is picking flowers for Princess Celestia when a chirp spooks her and she discovers a little fly thing that's hungry so she offers it an apple by crushing it but the fly thing decides to devour what's in the basket instead. Fluttershy can't wait to show it to her friends as it finds home in her mane. At Twilight's house, Twilight urges Spike to hurry up with the cleaning as Princess Celestia is coming tomorrow. Spike suggests Twilight read the books one at a time as he climbs off the ladder but loses his balance and falls back down to the floor. Twilight says there's no time for fooling around and Spike makes another suggestion but ends up doing all the cleaning while Twilight herself checks on the others' preparations, which are looking good in her eyes except that the banner reads "Welcome Princess Celest" as Celestia's last name didn't fit completely so Twilight instructs them to do it over. She arrives at Mr and Ms Cake (or Kake I suppose) and they tell her that they'd be doing better if Pinkie Pie hadn't been eating the treats but PP explains that she's making sure the treats are fine when Fluttershy enters, asking if she's interrupting but PP says it's no problem, completely devouring a cake in one bite (surprising that she isn't full yet). Fluttershy shows what she brought home but even she herself is surprised when there are more than what she had originally brought here. Twilight takes one but PP doesn't want what she tells us are Parasprites and that she'll need a trombone, explaining the others what that is and darts off.  Meanwhile, Rainbow Dash won't sit still as she finds it boring not being allowed to fly and is wearing an outfit as Twilight enters with her Parasprite that too has multiplied to 3. Rarity and RD take one and are too busy with the sprites to notice or hear PP enter, requesting the location of an accordion. Back home, Twilight hopes everything will be ready in time as Spike snoozes with a sprite. (If they went to bed and the clock says 4:00, then it must be either 4AM or nearing Winter because it's just impossible otherwise). The next morning, Twilight awakens to much snoring and sees that there are tons more than before and even after Spike is woken up, he has no idea where the others came from after he gave the one he originally had a snack. Twilight says Celestia will arrive in a few hours as the sprites start dropping books on the floor and orders Spike to help round them up but he's already ahead of her but is struggling with the large pile in his basket and ends up dumping them back on the floor. Up in the clouds, RD is sleeping when a sprite pops up and awakens her but there are more than she originally had too and they won't stay away no matter how hard RD tries. Rarity down below finds the sprites very helpful until one of them sneezes another sprite in Rarity's eye and she finds it disgusting but it doesn't get better when another sprite sneezes another sprite into being. She leaves her house to find PP but doesn't have time for what she thinks is a scavenger hunt and walks away while PP gets a banjo. Rarity then runs into Twilight with the exact same problem and Twilight figures Fluttershy will help but when they open the door thousands more Parasprites fly out as Fluttershy tried everything she knew. A horrible thought enters Twilight's head that shows Celestia's arrival and attack from the Parasprites. If they don't stop them soon, it'll be a total disaster but Rarity considers it already a terrible disaster (I'd agree based upon the fact that none of them know how to stop them yet) as another sprite is created. Applejack arrives with the apples Twilight wanted but they're eaten by the sprites so Twilight figures Applejack could help and she does with a little help from Fluttershy and RD. Pinkie Pie appears, wanting Twilight to help her find maracas, then changes it to a different instrument but when they don't help, she races off, calling them all stubborn.  At last they get the rolling sprite pile into the Everfree Forest but the sprites break free as Fluttershy couldn't help herself. RD makes a tornado to scoop the sprites up again but when Pinkie Pie brings cymbals, they too are sucked up and force RD's tornado to fizzle out and release the sprites again. PP is ruining their efforts to save Ponyville, whose food becomes the sprites' next target so Twilight casts a spell, which works except now they're eating everything else except ponies! Rarity isn't getting any help, even after PP enters, retrieves what looks like a flute, and leaves. Twilight goes to Zakora for help but all she gets back is a rhyme that tells her she's doomed. She heads out of the Everfree forest to discover that Celestia is arriving and devises a plan that RD is part of. PP enters with music of her own that the sprites like and follow her lead. Celestia lands on the ground by carriage and is about as perplexed as AJ and Twilight are over the ordeal. She's honored that Twilight threw her a parade for her arrival but says she has to go deal with "a crisis in Fillydelphia  (the supposed spelling I've read on MLP Arena that would indicate that it's an obvious reference to Philadelphia, PA) about pests overtaking the area". She apologizes for putting Twilight through any trouble but Twilight has had no idea what Celestia was talking about (and she's right) but requests Twilight give her report of friendship before she leaves and with that, Twilight does. PP wonders where Celestia went and gets her explanation, then an apology from the others about not listening. She saved Ponyville........or not and gives a fitting "wah-wah-wah-wah" on her tuba.
