All Twilight has to do to find out what Sunset Shimmer does as Fall Princess Formal champion is to ask SS' previous opponent. Everyone in the cafeteria sits with their own kind instead of with a mixed group and know that SS will rule until they graduate but Twilight won't allow it and sinks her teeth into an apple as best she can until Fluttershy's reaction tells her the right way but she remembers what she came to do and asks Fluttershy where to find the head of the committee. She finds herself in the gymnasium where party decorations are going up and (unintentionally) coming down) as a familiar face makes her presence known. It's Pinkie Pie, whom wonders if Twilight is perhaps psychic but it's not something done at the school. Twilight explains why she came here and Pinkie Pie isn't happy to hear Fluttershy's name be brought up as she notes how mean Fluttershy can be. She quickly returns to what Twilight said earlier and hands her a clipboard and pen to sign up to be in the Fall Princess Formal. Twilight leaves her signature but PP is quick to notice just how terrible it is. Just then another voice rings out about a dozen cases of fizzy apple cider and Twilight is first to realize whom has just come in. Applejack and Big Macintosh have come in to deliver but AJ quickly opens up a bottle and begins drinking it until PP explains what Twilight is doing and warns to think twice as SS can act nice then turn her back on them. Only Rainbow Dash can be trusted less than SS as she's captain of every team in Canterlot High that will claim to do something for you, then not show up. Twilight must be going and heads out and Sunset Shimmer comes in with two more familiar faces and rejects what is being provided. She'll be running unopposed except against Twilight Sparkle and is now determined to find her. In the hallway's dimming light, Twilight and SS meet again as SS can't believe she didn't recognize TS sooner and remarks on how Celestia's star student doesn't know what happens when an Element of Harmony is brought into an alternate reality (a question is only hard if you don't know the answer and I would've thought you'd know that Ms "I know all"). How can Twilight be a princess without fitting in? As she passes by, Snips and Snails are wrapped in decorations and once she frees them, she asks for something that was also used on her last opponent. Twilight is in the mood for a snack but can't figure out how the machine works so Trixie shows up to obtain some peanut butter crackers (even I wouldn't quite know what the prices are, considering they aren't below the items, nor do I know how much Trixie's coin was and how that relates to USD, if at all). Now Twilight realizes how little she knows about this place but quickly finds the library where Snips and Snails are tracking her. Twilight finds a computer but like everything else, has no idea how it works and Ms Cheerilee keeps a calm and cheerful face to help out. A familiar tune fills the room as the Cutie Mark Crusaders are listening to their music video on a YouTube parody site when Ms Cheerilee briefly mutes the volume, then takes away the speaker when they return the volume to its previous setting, reminding them of what the computers are truly for. As Twilight struggles with the keyboard, Snips and Snails catch it on their phones. Shortly after, TS gets more books than can be stablized and books and all tumble to the floor with the S duo quick to catch the moment. A little later, TS moves to a copier and sees how bright the copier's light is and is thrown back. Shortly before library closure, TS mentions to Spike about not thinking where they'll sleep for the night but Spike has made a bed of books and one of them Twilight opens to find the rest of the Mane 6 as friends and fears that the reason why they aren't friends now is because of SS. Twilight must make friends here if she's going to win the Fall Princess Formal. Thursday morning arrives as Principal Celestia reminds students to pick up their FPF ballots and Twilight has created a list of talking points and Spike ridicules before being reminded of where he'll go if he doesn't behave. As she exits the library, students snicker and another familiar face pulls her aside to give her a disguise that is easily seen through as Applejack enters as she and the others had been looking for her but Twilight hasn't seen the video that PP shows via her laptop. Fluttershy's advice spirals into a reason to hate on each other so Twilight breaks it up and shows them the photo of them from the Freshman Fair. However, they don't buy that SS made them all stop being friends yet suspicious texts to them suggest otherwise. They find Rainbow Dash outside and bring Applejack too her where the two chat and eventually hug. RD mentions what she'd been told about Twilight running against Sunset Shimmer and is willing to help out if Twilight beats her 1 on 1 in soccer. Try as she might, Twilight doesn't have any luck against RD and loses 5 to 0 but RD is willing to help anyway as Twilgiht proved she has heart and determination, which is what someone in the FPF should have. As Twilight gets a drink and bumps into a new character, Sunset Shimmer and SnS are plotting their next move.
